Notable Industry Projects:
'Free Jimmy' is a Norwegian/British computer animated feature film released in Norway in 2006. Several Norwegian companies were involved in the production and distribution, although a significant part of the film was produced in London at Slave Studios, the CGI company owned by animation producer Andy Frain. However, the main company involved in the production was Storm Studio, a Norwegian company. The lighting and rendering of the movie has been finalized in a Canadian company located in Montreal (Modelink). The entire job took nearly two years to finish and spanned 2004, 2005 and 2006.

Other animation works by the same Norwegian production companies as shown above:
'The Danish Poet' is a 2006 animated short film written, directed, and animated by Torill Kove and narrated by Liv Ullmann. A co-production of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and Mikrofilm AS of Norway, it has won both the Academy Award and Genie Award for best animated short film.
The film was made using hand-drawn traditional animation, with pencil on paper, and then scanned and digitally coloured, with about half of the animation by Kove, and the rest divided between animators in Montreal and Norway. Kove's style is simplistic, which she says is less a specific style choice than "quite simply [...] the only one I know how to do." The backgrounds were painted by Montreal artist Anne Ashton.

More Work by Studio Magica:
After perusing some further reading links on the internet I noticed that the short film 'My Grandmother Ironed The King's Shirts' was worked on by a company called 'Studio Magica', and seeing as I hadn't already found this studio or looked at any other work they had created I thought I'd add an extra section here to see what other projects they've created.
The company has only worked on two other projects:

Unfortunately I can't find a video or much info out about this animation but if you put the title into YouTube or Vimeo you get a lot of crazy Christmas videos :P ...so I'm guessing the word 'Christmas' is probably in the title when you translate it? but thats all I can really tell you about this film :) |
A Dead Company or Just Unprofessional?:
When searching the internet for Norwegian animation companies I managed to find this website, 'Horizon Animation Studio'.
It would seem as though this could be a very newly established company with various projects, as stated on their website, in the pipeline for future release. However it looks to me as though this website is just the remnants of a dead company, due to it being very out of date with news feeds and project info, etc. especially after reading that the company was supposedly founded in 2009, and they've accomplished very little in that time. Also if you check out any links they have to sites such as YouTube you will see that their profile is empty containing no videos and was last updated ages ago, (12th Oct 2010) it's not looking good for Horizon Animation Studio... :S
Please click on their logo below to view the companies website, and also the links lower down the page to see how they advertise themselves across various others sites online.
Useless Horizon Animation Commercial: Wheres the animation!? D:
Game Developer:
After I found a few animation companies I tried to broaden my research my branching out into other areas that could still relate to the subject of animation. Which is why I found the following information on the company called Playfish.
